Blending Cottage Warmth with Modern Luxury: Amalfi Kitchen Renovation

For Clare’s kitchen and utility in Botesdale, we installed a beautifully crafted Amalfi range kitchen — a modern and highly desirable door style that combines sleek aesthetics and practical performance.

The Amalfi range features a smooth, lacquered flat-slab door with a velvet-to-touch finish that creates a contemporary, understated look throughout the space. Designed with an MDF core and high-quality finish, the doors and drawers are both stain-resistant and easy to clean, making them ideal for busy family kitchens. Masterclass Kitchens

Amalfi’s clean lines and minimalist profile ensured Clare’s new kitchen felt bright, open, and cohesive, perfectly suited to the addition of a central island and integrated appliances like the built-in wine cooler. Its modern finish complemented the tiled flooring extending through both the kitchen and utility, providing a seamless and stylish flow between the two spaces. Masterclass Kitchens

About The Project

Clare wanted to transform her dated kitchen into a modern, functional, and social hub for daily use and entertaining. Located in Botesdale, the existing layout lacked efficient workspaces, practical storage, and flow into the utility room. The project brief centred on creating a beautiful bespoke kitchen with a central island, enhanced storage, and a built-in wine cooler.

This is what the kitchen looked like before

The Process & The Kitchen Design & Build In Progress

1. Initial Survey & Planning
We began with a detailed site survey to understand space constraints, utility placement, and lighting conditions. This ensured the kitchen design worked with the home’s character and functional requirements.

2. Strip-Out & Preparation
The old kitchen, flooring, and fittings were removed. We protected surrounding rooms and prepared walls, floor, plumbing, and electrics ahead of new installations.

3. Electrical & Lighting Layout
The lighting was redesigned to include:

LED downlights across the whole space
Stylish pendant lights over the island
Under-cabinet task lighting
Dedicated appliance circuits for the island workspace and wine cooler
4. New Plumbing & Utilities
Plumbing was repositioned for the sink and dishwasher. We also ensured water and drainage were prepared for the utility room, maintaining flow between spaces.

5. Cabinetry & Worktop Installation
Modern bespoke cabinets were installed with premium soft-close fittings. Precision-cut worktops were fitted, ensuring clean lines and robust durability.

6. Island & Wine Cooler Integration
A central kitchen island was installed to provide:

Extra workspace
Additional storage
A social focal point for gatherings
The built-in wine cooler was seamlessly integrated into the design, adding both convenience and a premium finish.

7. Flooring Throughout Kitchen & Utility
We laid tiled flooring that runs continuously from the kitchen into the utility room, delivering:

Visual cohesion between rooms
Highly durable, easy-to-clean surfaces
A unified, high-end aesthetic
8. Final Fixings & Appliance Integration
All appliances — including oven, hob, dishwasher, and wine cooler — were integrated and tested. Final trims, silicone joints, and quality checks ensured a flawless finish.

The Results

Challenges & Solutions
Uneven Floor Levels Between Rooms
Older properties often have differences in floor height. We corrected this to allow the tiled flooring to run seamlessly from kitchen to utility.

Power Requirements for Island Features
Installing power feeds for the island’s small appliances and lighting required careful planning. We safely concealed wiring while maintaining complete access.

we then completed the process with a downstair toilet of the utility and as well as upstairs main and ensuite bathroom - (Not included in the project value above)

Ensuring a Bright, Functional Cooking Space
The existing room lacked even lighting. Our layered LED and task lighting strategy dramatically improved visibility and overall atmosphere.

The finished kitchen is a beautiful, practical, and sociable space that Clare absolutely loves.

Key outcomes include:

A stunning kitchen island that enhances workflow and social interaction
A built-in wine cooler for stylish storage and entertaining
Tiled flooring throughout the kitchen and utility for continuity and easy maintenance
Clever storage solutions that maximise space
A brighter, more modern room with excellent lighting and ergonomic layout
Clare praised the attention to detail, cleanliness on site, and professionalism throughout the installation.
